Now everyone who embraces your Data Culture can have access to the latest and greatest features as soon as they are available. As Power BI Desktop continues to improve, any existing installations will automatically be updated, without the need for end user Windows administrator rights.
Enterprises will now be able to easily push the latest version of Power BI Desktop to their end users, ensuring access to the latest and greatest features. If this is the world you live in there is great news too.

On the flip side to me there are many individuals in organizations clamoring for the latest features in Power BI Desktop but they cannot access them, they need admin rights on their PC to install the new version or need their IT team to package up and deploy the latest version. Once this version of Power BI is installed you Power BI desktop will be automatically kept up to date like your Windows and all your other modern apps. If you are like me there is a solution for you, Power BI is now available as a Windows 10 app in the app store.
Why? Because I feel I don't have the time to go to the Power BI site, download the latest version, close what I am working on, install the latest version of Power BI, before I begin getting done what I need to get done. If you are like me and have something you need to get done right now then you ignore it. What do you do when the "Update available" message shows up in Power BI Desktop (it feels like every time I open it even though updates only come once per month).
